Saharan Adventure

Saharan adventure 1 day bivouac
The Douz region, the gateway to the desert…

At the edge of this oasis, Bedouin shepherds still roam with their herds in the last "pastures" before the great sands of the Grand Erg Oriental. It is through their journey, in the white sands, that we will take you…

 Program

Departure from your residence to cross the chott el Djérid then continue to Douz. We meet around 9 am with the camel team in Douz, the last oasis bordering the desert of sand, and it is the departure to reach the sea of ??sand that stretches out before us. On the back of a dromedary or on foot, we walk quietly between "pastures" and white sands. The preparation of lunch, bread and tea on the wood fire allows everyone to enjoy the desert as they wish. After this break, we continue our journey among the dunes. Here and there, in the distance, a few dried palm trees testify to the existence of ancient springs. From the top of a dune, we see in the distance the large palm grove of Douz. We will reach it at the end of the afternoon. Then return by a 4x4 to Tozeur by crossing Chott el Djérid again.
